Michael Kusalaba Library

Owner: Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning Valley

Role: General Contractor

Project Value: $3.8M

Named after an electrical engineer, Michael Kusalaba, this library branch on the West side of Youngstown is a now prominent landmark.  Not only is the building design unique but also what it contains within.  This particular branch features all types of hobbyist technology.  There are 3D printing stations, button making, light-boxes for photography, t-shirt presses, photograph scanners as well as a music recording studio room.

The building exterior is comprised of cedar siding, aluminum composite panels and aluminum storefronts and glazing.  The interior features multiple tongue & groove wood ceilings, carpeting, LVT, rubber tile, ceramic tile in the restrooms, projection screens and projectors, overhead doors, exterior landscaping, parking  and concrete flatwork.  The building was built at the site of the previous West side library, which was demolished at the start of this project.
